What is Botox®?

Botox® is a drug made from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum called botulinum toxin. It is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically remove wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscles.

How does Botox® Work?

Botox® blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften.
It is most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines. Wrinkles caused by sun damage and gravity will not respond to Botox.

In clinic Procedure

Getting Botox® takes only a few minutes and doesn't require anesthesia. Botox® is injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort.
It generally takes 7 to 14 days to take full effect, and it is best to avoid alcohol starting at least one week before the procedure. You should also stop taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications two weeks before treatment to reduce bruising.

How long will the Botox® last?

Botox® can last up to 6 months’ results vary from person to person, on average we say 3-6 months, desired effect required 2-3 times a year.
